About Crinkle Bottoms
While I was pregnant with my daughter, Sophia, I had a lot of time on my hands!
I was staying at home, my husband and I had just moved to another state and
all I had to do was read about babies and being pregnant. Amongst the websites about
labor and delivery, getting your newborn to sleep, baby bargains and much more,
I discovered the interesting world of cloth diapers. My husband and I
discussed cloth diapers a couple of times, but he wasn't really keen on the idea
and I wasn't sure myself. When our little girl was born we were
thrown into the hectic world of being new parents. During this time, the idea of
cloth diapering was thrown by the wayside.
A few months later, when Sophia was about 4 months old, I decided we had
spent enough on disposable diapers and bought some prefolds and a few
covers. With much trepidition my husband agreed and we entered the world of
cloth diapering. Instantly, I was in love! I loved the cute covers, the fact
that it was better for my baby and better for the world and my daughter stopped
getting diaper rash all together! Not very long after we started, I decided
to make my own wool cover. I loved the way the wool worked and the way it looked on her.
I started tweaking the pattern and finally came up with something I liked.
After talking with my husband and getting my sister-in-law on board, our store was born.
Why "Crinkle Bottoms"? I get asked this a lot. I wanted to choose something that reminded
me of my daughter. At the time, her favorite toy was a lamb that had crinkle material inside.
I wanted to remember how much she loved that toy and any toy that made a crinkle sound,
the happiness of those first laughs that came from it, so we became "crinkle" bottoms.
Each of our items are made with loving care and the best quality materials we could
find. We love wool and have no doubt that you will too. Try one out today!
About Milk Beads
When my sister told me she was engaged to be married, I was so excited!! She is eight
years older than I, but she and I have always had this bond beyond any other. One thing
had just clicked in after she told me the wonderful news though...She would be gaining a
daughter in this marriage! I knew I wanted to do something for her to make her feel welcome
into such a large, not to mention odd, family. I came to the end of my brainstorm with the
decision to make her a necklace with all the birthstones of her new cousins. I had never before
attempted to make this type of jewelry, other than a safety pin flag pendant in grade school.
I soon realized how much fun it was to work with beads, and make fun pieces of jewelry.
I had told my sister-in-law, Meghann about my successful attempt. No sooner had I told her, than she
asked me to join Crinkle Bottoms with Milk Beads. I am a mother of three wonderful children. The opportunity
to make this jewelry for other moms and make their experiences more enjoyable was something I could
not refuse! I love being a mom, and I try to put a little of that love into these pieces of jewelry.
